Filming log
On the 14/12/11 we did all the cellar shots this included the dead body shots, the close up on the victim and the man walking down the stairs. Also we did the dragging of the victim so that the audience knew she had been knocked out and taken away.

Filming so far
On the 06.12.2011 we filmed the establishing shot of the house. Unfortunately we are going to have to do that shot again due to a continuity error.
On the 12.12.2011 we filmed the pictures on the floor and got about 5 minutes of film to play with to make it look better when it came to editing.
On the 13.12.2011 we filmed the woman baking and the door knocking, the baking was instead of the cup of tea, the woman answer the door and the the close ups of the man's face and the woman's face.
This is a still of our editing process the man is knocking on the woman' s door.
This is a still of the man smiling at the woman right before he frowns and knocks her out.
This is a still of the images on the floor, the woman's face is scratched out and the shadow creates suspense.

Good and bad points to filming
We have been filming these lest 2 weeks and there have been some good and bad points to our filming.
Good points:
We have had a continuity error with the lighting we had a problem with the establishing shot of the house, when the camera goes from the house to the man walking to the door the lighting gets darker therefore we need to revisit that shot and do it again to make it look better for the audience.
Also we need to get more shots of Sophie baking in the kitchen.
Good points:
- We have got the first minute of our 2 minutes done from filming.
- We are able to do filming when one of use is ill.
- We are getting a lot done on the nights we do film.
- We have been working well as a team.
Bad points:
- We have had a problem with the filming of the woman being dragged away some of it is missing and it skips the important parts.
- The weather is changing and it is about to snow so we hopefully will have our external shots done.
- We have been looking at the cellar and we need light so we have been given a lamp but, we needed an extension cable and now we have one tonight we will be trying to get that done.

Danielle Burns

We have just found out that Danielle Burns will be leaving school therefore she will no longer be in our group. This is unfortunate because she is a valid member of our group and does keep up to date with her work. She will be missed and we have wished her all the best in whatever she does.

Micro and macro elements
The micro elements in our production all help to add up to to the macro for example the micro elements ie lighting and the sound all help to create suspense a macro element. All the micro elements help in our production to create the feeling of a horror film. So by this I can tell that all the micro elements are important in our production. So in our production we have low key lighting, eerie music and distorted sounds to create the tension build up in the production.
Shot list
We have listed all the shot types we will need in order to complete our media video. This will help us to achieve our production faster.

Preliminary task
Our preliminary task consisted of filming someone walking down a corridor and opening the door and saying a few lines of dialogue:
During the preliminary task we did an evaluation on what we had done:
The evaluation
Write about the preliminary task. what were you asked to do? How did you find each stage of the process?
- Continuity task, involving filming and editing a character opening a door, crossing a room, sitting down in a chair opposite another character, with whom he/she then exchanges a couple lines of dialogue. This task should of demonstrated match on action / shot reverse shot and the 180 degree rule.
- I had to do editing and it went well I thought it was good fun and learned a lot about adobe premier pro.
Write 3 things you learned during the preliminary task:
- Continuity is vital in a shot.
- Close ups help depict the characters emotion.
- How to edit film together.
List 3 things that went well:
- The continuity.
- Shot reverse shot.
- The editing process.
List 3 things you think you could have improved:
- The walking and the opening of the door.
- The facial expressions and the dialogue.
- Could have used more effects such as wipes.
Has the preliminary task given you any ideas for your 2 minute film opening? If so, what?
- The shot reverse shot I think we should use.
- The editing process will be used for example adobe premier pro.
We have decided to look at this before we start to film because it helps us with the match on action, 180 degree rule and the shot reverse shot. So that we do it all right when it comes to our own production.
Props and costumes
The props and costumes we have decided to use are:
Props:
Costumes:
Props:
- A crow bar to make the audience know the weapon straight off instead of some weapon that the audience will not recognise.
- Kettle and tea equipment to show that the young woman is a normal person and the sound of the kettle creates suspense.
- We are using photos in the beginning 30 seconds to create suspense and enigma's. This will help use establish the opening characters also. We are not using these photos but these are an example of how we will be using the photos.
Costumes:
- The killer is wearing dark clothes this is a connotation that the man is going to do something wrong, he is identified within the first 10 seconds of action.
- The woman is wearing normal everyday clothes to make her look innocent. The clothes are a connotation that she is not bad so the good and bad in the film is already been established.
Shooting Schedule
Shooting schedule for will sophie and danielleWe did this so that it keeps us organised and so that we know what we have left to do because we wanted to keep it simple and not confuse ourselves.
