Preliminary task

Our preliminary task consisted of filming someone walking down a corridor and opening the door and saying a few lines of dialogue:

During the preliminary task we did an evaluation on what we had done:

The evaluation

Write about the preliminary task. what were you asked to do? How did you find each stage of the process?
  • Continuity task, involving filming and editing a character opening a door, crossing a room, sitting down in a chair opposite another character, with whom he/she then exchanges a couple lines of dialogue. This task should of demonstrated match on action / shot reverse shot and the 180 degree rule.
  • I had to do editing and it went well I thought it was good fun and learned a lot about adobe premier pro.
Write 3 things you learned during the preliminary task:
  • Continuity is vital in a shot.
  • Close ups help depict the characters emotion.
  • How to edit film together.
List 3 things that went well:
  • The continuity.
  • Shot reverse shot.
  • The editing process.
List 3 things you think you could have improved:
  • The walking and the opening of the door.
  • The facial expressions and the dialogue.
  • Could have used more effects such as wipes.
Has the preliminary task given you any ideas for your 2 minute film opening? If so, what?
  • The shot reverse shot I think we should use.
  • The editing process will be used for example adobe premier pro.
We have decided to look at this before we start to film because it helps us with the match on action, 180 degree rule and the shot reverse shot. So that we do it all right when it comes to our own production.
