BBFC

The BBFC are the 'British board of film clasification' who are an independant, non- governmental body funded through the fees it charges to those who submit films and video through clasification.

What do the BBFC take ito consideration?
  • Discrimination
  • Drugs
  • Horror
  • Imitable behaviour
  • Language
  • Nudity
  • Sex
  • Theme
  • Violence
Key to all decisions is the context these things are presented in. So graphic violence which is glamorised will be classified much stricter than fairly light violence which is presented in a  comical or negative manner.

Some examples that the BBFC have banned in the uk because they are of a worse standard of 18.
  • Human centipeed 2 the full sequence.
  • Grotesc because it had to much level of sexual tortue.

This is an example of the 18 symbol the BBFC would have on the film ratings.
