Dead men by other AS students in De Aston

My analysis of this film opening is as follows:

M.E.L.C.S
M-Mise en scene
C-Costume- The man being chased by the killer was wearing everyday normal clothes to show that he is not cery significant. The killer was wearing a hoodie to represent that he was dangerous. The news reporter was wearing a nice shirt and tie to represent that he was in a well payed job.
L- Lighting- In M.E.L.C.S.
A-Actors- The man who was being chased was scared to show that he was worried. The man that was chasing the victim was serious when we saw a little part of his face. The news reporter was serios to show his job. This all shows the seriousness of the scene.
M-Make up- The make up in the scene is quite normal apart from the victim and the killer, the victim's face was quite pale to emphasise that he was scared and the killer's face was dark to show that he was serious and damgerous.
P-Props- The props used in the scene are the gun which is held by a man which is a stereotype that a gun should be held by a man when we think of a gun we think of men using it. The other props was the t.v which created an Enigma.
S-Setting- The setting of this scene was set in the woods and in a mans house whilsthe watched t.v.
E-Editing- In the scene there were some jump shots this creates a fast tempo to the scene and keeps the suspense running. There were also dissolve cuts when the credits came onto the screen.
L-Lighting- The lighting used in the woods was high key lighting which is not a great choice for a horror film but it went ok for the scene shot. In the man's house the lighting was low key because it was a dimmer dullar mood.
C-Camera- The camera shots used in the scene were, shot reverse shot when the man was watching tv to show that someone was watching the tele, there was also some zooms to show that there was someone running from someone in the woods. The murderer had a low angle camera on him to show power and that he was in control, The victim had a high angle camera on him to show that he was weak and couldnt do anything. Lastly there was a hand held shot following the man being chased around the corner in the woods.
S-Sound- There are two types of sound in the clip diagetic and non- diagetic.
Diagetic- In the scene the diagetic soung used is the gun when it goes of to show that the man was killed. The leaves and the trees in the wind when the people are running. The T.V when the man is watching it to show what the film would be about.
Non-diagetic- The music in the clip does not really fit the horror genre it fits the mafia of the action genre.

Likes- I like the way the camera has been used in the clip to create power to the killer.
Dislikes- I didnt like the way the camera was moved it was jolty.
- I didnt like the props the gun you could tell was fake.
- I didnt like the lighting in the clip because it didnt fit the horror genre convensions.
